Mother Nature's Way to Pamper Your Child 

 

My name is Brookie-Lee Glaser and I am the mother of two little boys and wife to my best friend. After our first son was born my husband and I decided that I would be a stay at home mom.  Cutting back to a one income family was more of a financial burden than we expected and so when I got pregnant with our second son I started looking for a way to make some extra money while keeping my children with me.  I decided that I wanted to start my own business.  I knew that the best business ideas fill a need and so I began my search for a 'need'.
 

During this time we were having issues with my oldest son leaking out of his disposables at night.  We were having to change sheets constantly and it was very frustrating.  So I started researching cloth diapers. I wanted to try a variety of diapers to get a feel for what I would like best. I ordered four diapers from the internet on a whim to test them out. One I returned right away because it was huge and I didn't like it's design, another I use during the day when all my others are in the hamper, and the last two I love and I now have more. It is very frustrating to order online because you just don't know what you're getting. If I had been able to see the diapers first hand my purchases would have been different and I wouldn't have spent the money on a second choice diaper. I consider myself a lucky mom though. Some women order packs of diapers and then later try a different diaper that they decide is amazing. They are then stuck with all the diapers that they originally purchased. I only got stuck with one.

 

I discussed with my local parenting board my frustrations about not being able to see the diapers before I bought them.  They all agreed and that is when I discovered the 'need' that I was looking for.  I decided then that I was going to open a brick and mortar cloth diaper store in Kansas City.

 

My goal with Happybottomus™ is to provide products, education, and support for parents seeking a more natural way of parenting.  Our main focus is selling a large variety of cloth diapers for our customers.  Providing customers with the opportunity to see, touch, and compare cloth diapers in person before they purchase.  Our secondary goal is to provide parents with alternative products such as slings, soft-soled-shoes, natural toys, and homebirthing kits.  We also plan to be a connection for the community to provide a network of natural parents, professional, and businesses.  Our goal is for a healthier and happier community.
